UP MP Savitribai Phule resigns from BJP; says party trying to divide society
Dalit leader and a Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich constituency resigned from the Bhartiya Janta Party after accusing them of trying to divide the society on religious lines. Phule announced that she has resigned from the basic membership of the BJP on Thursday, the eve of the death anniversary of BR Ambedkar. Her announcement comes two days after she reprimanded UP CM Yogi Adityanath over his comment that Lord Hanuman was a Dalit. The leader claimed that Hanuman was, in fact, a slave of the‘Manuwadi’ people. Talking about her role in the party, she also claimed that she was upset because her voice was being ignored as she is a Dalit. Asserting that Dalit people do not want Mandir, Phule said they instead want the Constitution to be implemented. Clarifying her resignation from the party, Phule said she will complete her term as MP.___________________

Chinese Mobile phone maker Huawei calls out Canada, US for CFO Meng's arrest
The Chief Financial Officer of Chinese telecom company Huawei Technologies Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada on behalf of the US government on Thursday, in a big setback to the country’s business and telecom companies. Meng, who also happens to be the daughter of Huawei’s founder Ren Zhengfei is reportedly facing ‘unspecified charges’ in New York. The Chinese embassy in Ottawa, Canada reacted in rebellion demanding Meng’s immediate release and calling the arrest a ‘human rights violation.’ “The company has been provided very little information regarding the charges and is not aware of any wrongdoing by Ms. Meng,” Huawei said in an official statement. Meanwhile, the Chinese stock markets slumped amidst trade war fears over Meng’s arrest.___________________
