RS Sharma reappointed for 2 yrs as TRAI Chief  Telecom Regulatory Association of India (TRAI) Chairperson RS Sharma, who had infamously made his Aadhaar number public on microblogging site Twitter in a bid to challenge hackers, got an extension of two years just a day before his retirement. The Union government through the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued the cancellation of Ram Sewak Sharma’s resignation while the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed the order. A 1982 Jharkhand cadre batch IAS, Sharma joined as the TRAI Chief in 2015. Rajya Sabha passes OBC Bill during Monsoon session The Upper House of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha during its Monsoon Session on Monday passed the Other Backward Classes (OBC) Bill or the 123rd Amendment Bill, 2017 granting the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) full constitutional validity. Representing the BJP during the discussion hour, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot argued that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government is pro-reservation and stands in support of marginalized groups.
