Fake call of protest in Kerala causes tension High tensions for the Kerala police department was on, on Monday as a fake call of protest on social media over the recent rape crimes in the country, led to much disturbance. As per media reports, A viral message released on social media sites since Sunday, asked the citizens of Kerala to come together for a ‘spontaneous’ state wide protest on Monday, with no authorized organization taking responsibility for it. Several districts experienced a shutdown like situation as transport services were stopped, shops were closed and in some areas the public and police engaged in violent clashes. Rahul Gandhi leads midnight march in Delhi to protest against rape cases With the country raging over the Kathua and the Unnao rape cases, Congress President Rahul Gandhi led a candlelight protest on Thursday night. "Like every patriotic Indian, my heart hurts tonight with the growing incidents of violence against the girl child and women across our country,” tweeted Mr. Gandhi inviting citizens to join the march. He was joined by sister Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra at the march. Gandhi marched from Congress headquarters to India Gate, getting joined by thousands of protestors as they marched on. Unnao Rape Case: UP Govt orders FIR against BJP MLA; Case handed over to CBI The UP govt ordered an FIR against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in connection with the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman in Unnao district. It also ordered to hand over the twin cases of rape and the custodial death of the victim's father to the CBI. Sengar on Wednesday night created headlines as he made his way to the Lucknow SSP’s office, amidst rumors of a possible surrender. However, minutes later he made his way out of the office saying he only went there to tell authority that he is not a rapist. Senger’s drama came following the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitting its first report in the alleged ‘killing’ of the Unnao gang-rape survivor’s father, Surrender Singh, under police custody.
