Madras HC stays Centre's ban on Cattle Slaughter  Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Tuesday granted a 4-week stay on Central government's notification on countrywide cattle slaughter and sought a response from the state and the government of India on the matter, media reports said. The court was hearing a petition seeking to halt the notification with the arguement that it would lead to loss of jobs in a large number.
