MEA registers complaint against Pak for 'harassing' Indian diplomats in Farooqabad

Controversy erupted between India and Pakistan after two Indian diplomats were restricted from entering Gurdwara Nankana Sahib on Wednesday and the Gurudwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad on Thursday. Stepping into action, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) lodged a formal complaint on Friday, stressing that there were “attempts to incite communal disharmony” during the visits. As per news reports, the Ministry said that diplomats Ranjit Singh and Sunil Kumar had taken proper travel permissions from the Pakistan foreign ministry but in spite of that they were harassed in Islamabad and denied contact the Indian pilgrims inside the Gurudwaras. The Pakistan government is yet to reply on the matter.

Rajasthan BJP unit expels 11 lawmakers ahead of assembly polls


The Rajasthan unit of BJP on Friday expelled almost 11 lawmakers including four veterans from Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s cabinet for failing to remove their names in favour of other party members, ahead of the December 7 Assembly polls. Issuing the expulsions, State party president Madan Lal Saini fired the ministers for six years. As per news reports, the four have declared that they will contest as independents. The move comes after veteran BJP leader and sitting MLA from Ramgarh Gyandev Ahuja resigned last week upset after his name didn't feature in the final list of contesting candidates.

Pakistan: Blast outside Chinese consulate kills 30 in suicide attack

Pakistan witnessed two dreadful attacks on Friday with the first attack outside Chinese consulate building in Karachi which killed four people, while the second one killed 30 and injured 20 others in the second attack in Khyber Pashtun region. On Friday morning, three armed suicide men entered the consulate building with a car laden full of explosives. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered an inquiry into the incident and said, “The attack was part of a conspiracy aimed at undermining economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations,” a report in the Hindustan Times said. Hours later, the Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack outside Chinese consulate building. In the afternoon, a suicide bomb attack took place in Orazkai when a bomber drove a motorcycle through a crowded market. Assistant Commissioner of the district Abbas Khan said, “It was a suicide blast at the festival that takes place every Friday.” The Ozaki region is inhabited by tribals of Afghan border and was termed as the most dangerous place in the world by Former US President Barack Obama.

Andhra Pradesh to construct assembly building taller than Statue of Unity

Andhra Pradesh government announced on Friday that it will build a new proposed assembly building in Amravati taller than the recently built Statue of Unity. The assembly building will consist of three floors of height 250 metre which is higher than the 182 metre World's tallest Sardar Vallabhai Patel statue in Gujarat. The assembly building will have two galleries which will give a spectacular view of Amravati city. The design of the assembly building is made by UK based architects Norma Foster who will submit the blueprint to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for the approval. Minister of Municipal Administration P Narayana said “the proposed structure will be shaped like an upside-down lily and added that the building will be cyclone and earthquake proof, reported by Scroll. Earlier other states also joined the bandwagon of building statues including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced to build a statue of 151 metre Lord Ram in Ayodhya, Karnataka government plans to construct a statue of 125ft of river Cauvery and Maharashtra government plans to build a statue of Shivaji of 210 metres height.

Tamil Nadu: SRM university students protest against of sexual harassment case

SRM Institute of Science & Technology students in Chennai staged a mass protest against the University authorities for demanding action against a sanitation worker who masturbated in front of a girl in the lift of girl’s hostel. On Thursday afternoon, a second-year undergraduate student took an elevator in hostel building to reach her room. A sanitation worker was also present in the lift who allegedly started masturbating right in front of her, reported by News18. Following the protests, the accuse26-year-old Arjun was arrested after a complaint was filed by university authorities. Meanwhile the SRM vice chancellor Sandeep Sancheti dismissed the allegations of inaction by the students and said “students are discussing with us. Whatever the matter is, it will be taken care of. If there is a matter, it will be inquired.” The students halted the protest after University gave assurance of investigation into the matter.
