Kisan Rally Update: Centre accepts few demands but farmers to continue rebellion
Following the high octane tension in the national capital as over 50,000 protesting farmers of the Bharatiya Kisan Union clashed with the police in the Delhi-UP border on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with the leaders. The Central government reportedly accepted 7 out of 9 demands including a law on MSP, reduction of GST on agricultural goods, relief for sugarcane farmers among others. “Home Minister Rajnath Singh met the agitating farmers and has agreed to the majority of the demands,” Union Minister of State for Agriculture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat told reporters. However, as per news reports, the farmers are not satisfied with Centre’s stand and will continue the protest.

Kolkata Blast update: TMC and RSS blame each other for the incident
With the high-intensity bomb blast rocking Nagarbazar in northern Kolkata’s Dum Dum area, blame game broke out in the state of West Bengal with political parties pointing fingers at each other. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) directed that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP are responsible for the event, even before an investigation is yet to begin. Addressing media agencies, state Minister Purnendu Basu said, “I think this type of blast is similar to the ones carried out by RSS elsewhere.” Reacting to the allegations senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar hit out at TMC and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee 'to stop lying', calling her a ‘bigger tyrant than Hitler.’ The incident witnessed an 8-year-old as a casualty and almost 10 people being injured.

Nobel Prize for Physics goes to a trio, first for a female in 55 years
In a historic achievement, the Nobel Prize panel on Tuesday awarded the 2018 prize for Physics to Canadian physicist Donna Strickland, first for a female in 55 years and only the third to win the prize, along with American Arthur Ashkin and Gerard Mourou from France. The trio has been jointly honored for their work in laser technology. While Arthur has been awarded for his creation of ‘optical tweezers and their application to biological systems,’ Mourou and Strickland has received the prize for ‘generation of high-intensity, ultra-short optical pulses,’ also known as chirped pulse amplification. Reacting to her remarkable win, Strickland reportedly said, “Obviously we need to celebrate women physicists because we are out there. I am honored to be one of those women.”

'Tariff King': Unhappy Trump slams India for high tariff on American products
President of the United States of America, Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed that India is ‘desperately’ trying to strike a trade deal with his country to cancel out the present tariffs. Speaking during the White House conference, Trump called India a ‘tariff king’ and emphasized that the country keeps really high tariffs on American products including the Harley Davidson motorcycles. “We send Harley Davidson motorcycles to them but they charge us very high tariffs. I have spoken to Prime Minister Modi and he is going to reduce them substantially,” Trump said. While adding that Indian products will face the same fate if the trend continues, the move comes days after Trump held a similar statement for China as well.

Vivek Tiwari Death Update: Postmortem reveals bullet injury on face killed him
The post-mortem report of Apple executive manager Vivek Tiwari, who was shot dead by Uttar Pradesh policemen was released on Tuesday and mentioned that he was killed due to bullet injury. The report directed that the gunshot injury in his chin is the one that ended up taking his life, which is one of the three shots accused constable Prashant Chaudhary had fired at him. This is yet another piece of information that dismisses the 'self-defense' act of Chaudhary, who said that he fired at Tiwari as he was going to run over Chaudhary and his colleague. Tiwari, was killed at 2:05 am Saturday while on his way to drop a female colleague, near Gomti Nagar area in Lucknow.
