Hours after the producers of film Padmavati announced that they were deferring the release of the film, Harayna BJP chief media coordinator Suraj Pal Amu on Sunday said that he would reward Rs 10 crore to those who behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Deepika Padukone. This came 2 days after a Meerut resident had announced a reward of rupees 5 crores on the heads of the director and the female lead of the movie Padmavati. He also threatened to break the legs of actor Ranveer Singh,"if he didn't take his words back." Ranveer Singh had said that he supoorted the film 200% and is with his director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

A day after six Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were gunned down in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, Islamic State on Sunday claimed responsibility for the Zakura attack carried out on Friday. However, addressing a joint press conference, Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF officials on Sunday assured of 'remarkable change' in the Valley and further refuted the Islamic State’s claims. A senior CRPF officer said, "The synergy among the security forces has been excellent and this is significantly responsible for the successes we have been getting”.

The Facebook and Twitter accounts of the Pakistan Defence Forum, an unofficial forum dedicated to Pakistan’s armed forces, was suspended on Saturday for posting allegedly fake news about Delhi University student carrying a poster. DU student Kawalpreet Kaur on Saturday tweeted, “The account of @defencepk has been suspended by Twitter for posting my unverified and morphed pictures. Grateful to all who reported it in large numbers. The message of the picture shouldn’t be lost in these dark times. No nation wants lynchings and killings. Only bigots want to hate”.

Around 19 were killed, 8 injured as a fire tore through a house in Beijing, confirmed Xinhua news agency. The fire, which was reported at 6.15 pm local time (3.45 pm Indian Standard Time) at Beijing’s southern Daxing district, was brought under control by 9 pm (6.30 pm IST). Although there was no confirmation on how the fire broke out, the police have reportedly taken suspects under control, confirmed the State media. According to local authorities, the city will set up a team to investigate the accident.

BB Swain, the state’s chief electoral officer, asked the cyber crime cell of Ahmedabad to find out the origin of the video, said media reports. The video comes at a time when the state is gearing up for the Assembly elections. A message in the beginning of the video, in Gujarati, says that such a thing can happen in Gujarat after 7 pm. After the woman reaches home safely, her father says, “This was Gujarat 22 years ago. And this can happen again if they return.”
