US-North Korea’s historic summit: Denuclearisation, ease on sanctions on agenda
With just few hours left for the historic summit between the United States of America and North Korea, details were released that the respective leaders of both the countries will have a one-to-one talk in a room with just their translators for company. North Korea’s Kim Jong Un reached the host city of Sentosa in Singapore, on Sunday morning, while US President Donald Trump arrived on the island nation on Monday. The meeting comes just three months after Trump criticising North Korea nuclear programs had called Kim Jong a ‘little rocket man’, leading to a series of agitated exchange of words between the leaders over the months. The summit will, as per news reports, focus on Trump’s demand for complete denuclearisation from his eastern counterpart, while North Korea will look for ease of sanctions and better foreign relations. The leaders are scheduled to hold the meeting at 9 am local time (6:30 am IST).

Vajpayee suffering from urinary tract infection, under observation: AIIMS
Updating on the health conditions of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) released a statement that the leader had been suffering from urinary tract infection. “Former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted today at AIIMS, New Delhi for investigation & evaluation. He has been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection for which appropriate treatment has been closely monitored and treated by a team of doctors,” the statement released on late Monday night read. The 93-year-old leader was visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, BJP President Amit Shah, among others. The leader had retired from public life due to his deteriorating health and has been bed-ridden since 2009._________________

In a big move for the national capital, the Delhi Vidhan Sabha on Monday accepted Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) appeal for a separate statehood for the city. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that his party will support BJP in the 2019 general elections if the union territory manages to get full statehood before the elections next year. “If you don’t do so (grant statehood), Delhi residents will put up boards saying ‘BJP leave Delhi’,” CM Kejriwal announced inside the Delhi assembly. AAP had held a citywide campaign for the separate statehood in compliance with his 2015 election promise for the same.

Another God-man booked for rape- Delhi's Daati Maharaj
A Delhi based sect leader known as Daati Maharaj was on Monday booked for raping a disciple. ‘Daati Maharaj’ who heads the Shani Dham in Fatehpur Beri, Delhi and is popular on television channels and social platforms was accused of rape by a female disciple. According to police sources, the incident happened two years ago and the case was registered against Maharaj in Fatehpur Beri on Sunday. It was later transferred to the district investigation unit (DIU). He has been booked under Indian Penal Code, Sections - 376, 377, 354 and 34. The victim revealed, there were several other women who were physically assaulted by the God-man. Daati Maharaj is a popular face on Indian television as he anchors horoscope based shows on several news channels.
UK Minister confirms Nirav Modi's presence in his country, assures support to India
UK Minister for Counter-Terrorism Baroness Williams on Monday confirmed to the Indian government that the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud accused Nirav Modi was in London, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju revealed on Twitter. Rijiju added that Williams has assured of full co-operation for the extradition of the diamond merchant at a meeting for counter-terrorism dialogue in the national capital. He also guaranteed Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju of UK’s support to extradite industrialist Vijay Mallya to India. Mallya, who has been staying in the UK for over a year now, has been accused of defaulting on loans worth thousands of crores. Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi, another accused in the case, had been absconding from India since January before the PNB filed its first complaint against them in the fraud case.
Actor Nawazuddin’s brother booked for derogatory post on Lord Shiva
In fresh trouble for actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his brother Ayazuddin was booked on Monday, on the complaint of Hindu Yuva Vahini for posting a derogatory social media post and hurting religious sentiments. As per news reports, Ayazuddin had uploaded a post on Facebook with an objectionable photo of Lord Shiva. Defending his act Ayazuddin said, “A man posted a derogatory pic of Lord Shiva. I wrote to him that he shouldn’t share posts that can hurt religious sentiments. Instead, a case was filed against me.” The Budhana police station that received the FIR against Siddiqui also said that it is the ‘objectionable photo’ that the complainants had a problem with._________________
UP’s suspended doctor Kafeel Khan’s brother shot thrice by unknown men
Kasif Jameel, the brother of Dr. Kafeel Khan, the Uttar Pradesh doctor who was accused of being responsible for the death of 63 infants at a medical college was shot by unknown assailants late on Sunday. Jameel who was on his way home was shot at thrice by bike-borne men, just 500 km away from Gorakhnath Temple. Alleging delay in treatment, Dr Khan said, the UP police insisted on his brother being taken to a government hospital first, which delayed the operation by almost three hours. Taking to social media, Dr Kafeel assured that his brother is doing well. “The operation has been successful. He is currently in ICU. Three bullets were shot at him in order to kill him,” Khan told news agencies added.
