Dalit Law student dies after beaten up by public in Allahabad

A second-year law student was beaten to death by a group of men outside a restaurant in Allahabad. The entire incident was caught on CCTV. Twenty-six-year-old Dileep, a second-year LLB student, had reportedly gone to a restaurant for a meal in Karnalganj along with two friends on Friday. An altercation broke out between Dileep and few persons, outside the eatery. The men soon started assaulting Dileep with bricks and sticks, leaving him seriously injured. He succumbed to his injuries on Sunday

71 ‘onboard’ dead as Russian plane crashes in Moscow




A plane operated by Russia’s Saratov Airlines crashed in the Moscow region on Sunday, killing all 71 people on board, Russian news agencies said, citing sources in the emergency services. There were 65 passengers and six crew members onboard the plane which went missing from radars less than 10 minutes after taking off from Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, said media reports. “Debris has been found, there are no survivors,” said local officials.

5 army jawans martyred, 4 militants killed in J&K's army camp attack




The toll in the militant attack at the Sunjuwan Army camp in Jammu on Sunday rose to six. The fatalities include five soldiers and one civilian. Four militants were also gunned down. A team of the National Investigation Agency reached the camp in the afternoon, after which four fire tenders also went to the spot as a precautionary measure, said media reports. While no group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far, security forces are certain of the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s hand in the attack at the Sunjuwan military camp on Saturday.

No alliance with Rajnikanth, if his color is saffron: Kamal Hassan





Movie actor- turned-politician Kamal Haasan has made it clear that any political alliance with superstar Rajinikanth is unlikely if his color is “saffron”, in an apparent reference to the BJP. However, Haasan did not rule out an electoral alliance with Rajinikanth if there is a commonality of ideas between them and similarities in their manifestos. “The reason that I have started a new political party itself shows that I want to walk with the people and not politicians,” he said. “All is not well with Tamil Nadu,” he said, slamming a current lot of political class in his state.

PM Modi lays foundation stone for the ‘First Hindu Temple’ in Abu Dhabi





After the foundation, stone-laying ceremony of the first Hindu temple to be built in Abu Dhabi. The Prime Minister arrived in the United Arab Emirates capital on Saturday. He interacted with the Indian community on Sunday at the Dubai Opera House, where the foundation ceremony was live-streamed. He talked about his government’s work during his keynote address. He also added Goods and Services tax, Aadhaar, soil health cards for farmers, and Start-up India scheme among others.
