Public Sector bank employees to be transferred every 3 years





After the PNB bank fraud case, the central vigilance commission (CVC) has on Monday issued an advisory to all the public sector banks ordering them to transfer the officers who have completed three years as on December 31, 2017. The CVC advisory also stated that the transfer of all clerical staff who have completed five years as on December 31, 2017 "should be done immediately". The Bank of Baroda (BOB) has started implementing the process. "As per Central Vigilance Commission guidelines, all officers should be rotated every 3 years. Further, as per Bank's Transfer Policy for Officers, no officer should be retained in the same post for a period in excess of 3 years and in the same station (municipal limits) for a period in excess of 5 years," said a BOI office memorandum.

Gujarat Civic Election 2018 Result: BJP wins 44 municipalities, Congress at 13





The Amit Shah-led party has bagged 44 Municipalities or Nagar Palika and the Congress party managed to get 13 municipalities. Seat-wise, the BJP has managed to get a total of 1177 seats while the Congress party has won 621 seats in 75 Gujarat Municipalities. Voting in 75 municipalities was held on February 17. The polling to the 74 Gujarat municipalities or Nagar Palika was held through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). BJP in 2013 had won 60 of these Nagar Palikas. However, the Congress gave a tough fight to the BJP this time and managed to double its tally.

Rotomac fraud increases to 3,695 crores from earlier 800 crores


The CBI on Monday has filed a case against Rotomac pen promotors Vikram Kothari and his family in connection with a case related to laundering funds amounting to Rs 3,695 rupees. The scam was earlier estimated at rupees 800 crore. The case against Kothari and his family was filed after officials received a complaint from Bank of Baroda. According to the complaint from Bank of Baroda, the conspirators allegedly cheated on a bunch of bad loans amounting to 3,695 crores, including the interest.

This is the second fraud in recent times after Punjab National Bank reported a scam worth more than 11,300 crores. Listed Indian banks have lost nearly $11 billion (Rs69,750 crore) in market capitalisation after the $1.8 billion fraud at Punjab National Bank (PNB) came to light.

Shambhulal Regar, the man who brutally murdered a 50-yr-old Muslim man and made a video of the entire incident and uploaded it on social media, has made another video, now reportedly from inside the Jodhpur Central Jail. In the new video, he can be seen inside what looks like the prison. However, it appears that he is reading a note. He says that he does not regret what he had done as he did so to protect Hinduism.

Nifty, Sensex at two week low due to PSU banks





Indian equity benchmarks fell for the second straight day to hit their lowest level as Public Sector banks and metal stocks came under high selling pressure. The Sensex closed lower by 236 points at 33,774, while the Nifty fell 73 points to close at 10,378. Coal India, NTPC, Infosys and Reliance industries were among the top gainers, while Tata Steel, Asian Paints, Adani ports were among the top losers. Union Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, Syndicate Bank, Bank of India, Indian Bank and Bank of Baroda shares declined 4.5-7.5 percent.
