Child Actor Zaira Wasim molested on flight, accused arrested



The Mumbai Police registered a case of molestation against a man on Sunday for assaulting nation awardee, child actor Zaira Wasim on her Delhi- Mumbai bound, Vistara flight. Posting a video on social media, Zaira broke down while narrating how the crew on flight took no action, despite her appeal for help. Air Vistara, on their part, issued a statement saying, "they will investigate the case" and that they have zero tolerance for such behavior. The accused, 39-year-old Vikas Satpal Sachdev was apprehended by the Mumbai Police and booked under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO). Meanwhile Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation added that "the accused will be put on no-fly list, if found guilty," adding that the aviation ministry stands with Zaira.

Pakistan trying to influence Gujarat polls: Narendra Modi 



Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that Pakistan is trying to influence Gujarat polls. He claimed that some Pakistani former officials and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met a day before Mani Shankar Aiyar made the 'Neech' remark. Addressing a poll rally in Gujarat, he said that the former director general of the Pakistan Army had made an appeal that Ahmed Patel be made Gujarat's Chief Minister. The meeting at Mr. Aiyar’s house continued for almost three hours, Mr. Modi said, adding, “The next day, Mani Shankar Aiyar said Modi is ‘neech’. This is a serious matter.” he added.

Britain gets it heaviest rainfall in 4 years, airports shut


The heaviest snowfall to hit Britain in four years caused widespread disruption on Sunday, with roads becoming hazardous and flights being grounded, following runway closures. Birmingham Airport, serving the country's second biggest city, suspended flights for all of Sunday morning, as staff worked to clear the runway amid heavy snow. 24,000 homes in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire were left without power after snow and wind saw tree branches coming into contact with overhead network, according to Britain's electricity supplier SSE.

Communist parties win majority vote in Nepal 



An alliance of Nepal's former Maoist rebels and the main Communist party have won a majority of seats in Nepal's parliamentary elections. According to the information given by Nepal's election commission on Sunday, the alliance is expected to form the next government in the country. The leftist alliance has won 84 seats in the national parliament and leads in a further 31, securing a majority.

Nobel peace prize winners urge countries to adopt 'ban the bomb' treaty 



The leader of the group that won this year's Nobel Peace Prize on Sunday urged nuclear nations to adopt a United Nations treaty banning atomic weapons in order to prevent “the end of us”.
The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) was awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize by a Nobel committee that cited the spread of nuclear weapons and the growing risk of an atomic war. ICAN is a coalition of 468 grassroots non-governmental groups that campaigned for a U.N. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, adopted by 122 nations in July.

Could have bowled out India in less than 50: Lakmal



Suranga Lakmal, who was chosen the man of the match in Dharamshala, said that his team could have bowled out the Indian team in less than 50 runs in the India vs Sri Lanka's ODI match on Sunday, a report in cricbuzz said. "I think they were 29 for 7 at one stage. I thought we could bowl them out for 40 runs or so. But MS Dhoni batted beautifully", the cricketer added.
