Bomb Blast in New york, 4 injured



A man with a homemade bomb strapped to his body set off an explosion at a New York bus station on Monday, injuring himself and three more. The Suspect, identified as Akayed Ullah, and is suspected to be a Bangladeshi national with ISIS links. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said that it was 'an attempted terrorist attack'. The weapon was based on a pipe bomb and fixed to the suspect with zip ties and velcro, police said. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, speaking at a news conference near the site, described the device as "amateur level.

Just married: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

 

After keeping the media in doubts for several days, cricketer Virat Kohli and bollywood actress Anushka Sharma finally tied the knot on Monday. The couple confirmed the news on Twitter. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli said in a joint statement, "Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. Rahul Gandhi elected the new Congress President


India’s oldest party paved the way for the next party President, as former Vice President Rahul Gandhi was elected to the post on Monday. Rahul was promoted to the top post, as the deadline to submit nominations ended at 12th December, with no other candidates. Rahul, will be assuming the office on 16th December, taking over from his mother Sonia Gandhi, after 19 long years.

Army neutralizes 3 Pakistani terrorists in J&K’s Handwara


The Indian Army gunned down three terrorists, believed to be Pakistani nationals in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara district, on Monday. J&K’s Director General of Police, SP Vaid, taking to Twitter said that the operation carried out by the joint team of State Police, Rashtriya Rifles and the CRPF “successfully neutralized three terrorist, believed to be Pakistanis.” A civilian, identified as Misra Bano lost her life in the cross-firing.

Eight locals arrested for attacking French tourists in UP



The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested eight people for allegedly attacking a group of French tourists in Mirzapur, on Monday. A group of twelve French nationals, accompanied by Varanasi based Riya Dutt were attacked with sticks by a group of boys, and hurled abuses at. One of tourist suffered severe head injuries and Dutt, who was also attacked and molested, are being treated at a hospital.

Saudi Arabia lifts 35 year old ban on cinemas



Saudi Arabia on Monday announced that it will lift the decade long ban on theatres as part of the Social reforms by the new crown prince. Commercial cinemas will be allowed to operate in the kingdom as of early 2018, for the first time in more than 35 years,” the culture and information ministry said in a statement on Monday, adding that the government would begin licensing venues immediately. The kingdom is promoting entertainment as part of sweeping changes known collectively as Vision 2030, which are being implemented despite opposition from conservatives.

PM Modi should apologize for Congress-Pakistan allegations



In the latest war of words with the BJP, the Congress has hit back calling it ‘an act of desperation,’ on his comments on Congress conspiring with Pakistan in Gujarat polls. Addressing the media, veteran Congress leader Anand Sharma said “This is an attempt to polarize voters ahead of the second phase. We condemn it and the PM should apologise.” Commenting on the situation, Pakistan Foreign Office issued a reply saying “stop dragging us in your electoral politics.”

Bitcoin may hit $100,000, says the man who predicted 2008 crisis



Nassim Nicolas Taleb, an American- Lebanese academic who had predicted the 2008 crisis, believes that the Bitcoin can touch $100,000 and there is no way to stop the rising ‘bubble’. Taleb had also predicted the US presidential elections and the Brexit vote. In his tweet Taleb said, "No, there is NO way to properly short the bitcoin "bubble". Any strategy that doesn't entail options is nonergodic (subjected to blowup). Just as one couldn't rule out 5K, then 10K, one can't rule out 100K."

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar turns 95



Bollywood came together to wish veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar on his 95th birthday, on Monday. Debuting his glittering career with Jwar Bhata, Kumar was the actor of his time for over six decades, giving hits like Babul, Devdas and Naya Daur, among others. Colleague and co-actor Amitabh Bachchan wished ‘his rakhi bhai’, while Dharmendra called him his ‘inspiration’.
