Onion Prices increase by four times in 2 weeks, could go up further
Onion prices have hit the highest in 2 two years in Lasalgaon, Asia’s largest onion mandi, a Business standard report said on Friday. The model price, closed at rupees 21.60 a kg on Friday, compared to 6.80 a kg just two weeks ago. One of the reasons stated in the report claims that farmers are selling them at lower costs, speculating government restrictions. The report showed onion arrivals in Lasalgaon mandi declined to 2,000 tonnes on August 4 from the level of 2284.5 tonnes on July 21. The conditions are believed to remain the same for next 6 or more weeks. Another factor for this is the climatic conditions in Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh, which have left the pressure on Maharashtra._______________________________
Aadhaar Card not compulsory for death certificates: Govt clarifies
Starting October 1, the Government has decided to seek Aadhaar for the registration of the deceased and to even get their death certificates although the same is not mandatory, media reports quoting official sources said. All states except for Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya have to follow the order, the statement added. The dates for the remaining states will be decided later. The measure is taken to ensure the accuracy of the details provided by the relatives or dependents or acquaintances of the deceased and to avoid any fraudulent practices in the name of the dead. The extract/certificate of birth and death are issued by the registering authority notified by the state and UT governments under section 12 and 17 of the RBD Act, 1969._______________________________
PSG-Barca signs biggest ever deal of £199m for Neymar’s 5-year contract
Paris Saint-Germain and have signed Neymar from Barcelona for deal of £199m (Rs. 1680 Crore), marking it as the biggest deal in the history of soccer. Neymar signed a five-year contract and immediately vowed to “conquer the titles” under PSG’s name. “I am extremely happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Neymar said. Fellow teammates of Neymar’s former team, tweeted their hearts out good-byes, notably Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. However, the current deal has been rejected by La Liga club saying, “As such, the club will pass on to Uefa the details of the above operation so that they can determine the disciplinary responsibilities that may arise from this case.”

Sensex, Nifty gain again, Break two-day slide
Indian Key Indices have become the best performers after the Hang Seng Index this year. They have only twice, dropped more than 1% in 2017. The Sensex and the Nifty broke their two-day losing streak, with the Sensex closing at 32,325, up by 0.27% and the Nifty at 10,066, up by 0.53% on Friday. The markets had started on a low note, but gained during intra-day trade to close above their previous sessions. A surge in stocks of consumer durables and oil and gas stocks helped the Indices to grow. With this, the BSE has signed off with gains for the fifth straight week._______________________________
