Donald Trump to host PM Modi in Washington on June 25-26


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit the US on June 25-26 and will be hosted by President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, media reports quoting officials sources said on Monday.


Modi and Trump are likely to address a host of issues that are considered important to the two countries including the H1B visa issue and the Paris climate deal that Trump has refused to be a part of.

Presidential Polls: BJP forms three-member panel to build consensus


BJP chief Amit Shah on Monday announced that a three-member panel has been formed to build consensus around the next Presidential candidate who will reach out to the Opposition members, media reports said on Monday.

Ministers Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naid, and Rajnath Singh are said to be the three members of the panel.

The last date for nomination for the election is June 28 and voting is scheduled for July 17.

Rahul Gandhi differs from Sandeep Dikshit on Army chief row


A day after Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit made 'uncivilized comments' on Army chief Bipin Rawat, party vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that no politician should make comments on the chief of Army staff, media reports quoting the leader said.

Dikshit had invited sharp criticism from the government after he had termed Rawat as someone who speaks like a 'Sadak ka Goonda.'

Dikshit ultimately offered an apology after Rahul Gandhi intervened over the issue and said it wasn't required.

Bombay HC pulls up Maha govt over early release of Sanjay Dutt 


The Bombay High Court on Monday pulled up the Maharashtra Government for allowing Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt an early release from jail and asked how was Dutt allowed to go when he was out on parole and furlough during most part of his term, media reports said.

The court sought an explanation for the term 'good behaviour' that was cited by the government as a reason in Dutt's case.

Kumble to continue as Indian coach till series with West Indies


Former Cricketer Anil Kumble will continue to be the coach of the Indian cricket team until the series with West Indies pending his acceptance, Supreme Court appointed panel head of BCCI Vinod Rai told the media on Monday.

Media reports had claimed that Indian Captain Virat Kohli and Kumble had differences on a host of issues which is Kumble had expressed his desire to step down from the post.
