Petrol, Diesel may soon  be delivered at your door-step


Home delivery of petrol and diesel on pre-booking is being mulled as the world's third-biggest oil consumer experiments with daily price revision at select towns beginning May 1, news agency PTI reported on Friday.


The move is being seen as a bid to help consumers avoid spending excessive time and long queues at fuel stations.

The ministry through a series of tweets confirmed the development and also stated that a parliamentary consultative committee met in Srinagar to discuss 'digital modes of payment' at all fuel outlets.

Fire kills 14 in Madhya Pradesh PDS Centre


At least 14 people were burnt alive in a major fire that broke out at a public distribution system (PDS) centre at Bargi village in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district on Friday, the police said.

Four persons are said to be injured and one is in critical condition, police officials added.

MP government has announced an ex-gratia of 4 lakh rupees for the kin of the deceased and compensation of 50,000 rupees for the injured.

Rajnath tells all states to ensure safety of Kashmiris


Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday asked all the states to ensure the safety of Kashmiris living in different parts of the country and termed them as similar to any other Indian who needs to be protected.

Singh's statement came after media reports claimed that Kashmiri students in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh were being threatened following incidents of stone pelting and assault on security personnel in the Valley.

Delhi HC tells AAP, MCD to ensure zero Dengue cases


Delhi High Court on Friday directed the AAP government and civic bodies to ensure that no dengue or chikungunya cases occur this year in the national capital.

Meanwhile, ahead of the MCD elections Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that if voters support the BJP in the municipal polls, then they are only to blame for dengue deaths.

SC asks Centre: How can you make Aadhar compulsory for PAN?


The Supreme Court on Friday lambasted the Centre for making Aadhar card mandatory for Pan card applications even after it had ruled on making it an optional requirement.

The government, however, defended its decision by saying that fake PAN cards were being used to divert funds to dubious shell companies.

The court made these observations while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) against the government's decision to make Aaadhar compulsory.
