China, India spar over Dalai Lama's Arunachal Visit 


India on Wednesday snubbed China's concerns over Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh and said that no artificial controversy should be created over the issue.



Demanding that India stop all such actions that would undermine China's interests and not hype up sensitive issues, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying had said that these activities would cause a serious damage to China-India relations.

Dalai Lama however defended his visit and said that he has been India's longest standing guest and has never been used against China.

Cow vigilantes thrash man to death in Rajasthan, 3 Arrested 


Three people were arrested late on Thursday in Rajasthan's Alwar district after a 55-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death by a group of cow vigilantes over suspicion that he was a cattle smuggler.

The victim and four others, including his two sons, were beaten brutally by some locals at Behror district on Saturday.

Rs 2000 notes won't be demonetised: Minister in RS


Quashing rumours surrounding Rs 2000 currency notes, the government on Wednesday told Rajya Sabh that there are no plans to demonetise the new currency notes,.

"We are seizing fake currency. As far as rumours in the market are concerned, we should not go by such rumours," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said.

Rijiju was responding to a question by Congress member Madhusudan Mistry during Question Hour.

Can't review Jayalalithaa's disproportionate assets case: SC


The Supreme Court On Wednesday dismissed the Karnataka government's plea that sought review of its verdict by which it had abated the proceedings in a disproportionate assets case against late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

The court had on February 14 convicted AIADMK chief V K Sasikala and two others in the case, while abating proceedings against Jayalalithaa as she was no more.

IPL 2017: Sunrisers Hyderabad trump Royal Challengers Bangalore


Sunrisers Hyderabad started their IPL campaign in style with a comfortable 35-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The 'orange army' was powered to a massive total of 207 by Yuvraj Singh's 50 of 23 balls and Shikhar Dhawan's 40 after being put into bat by stand-in RCB captain Shane Watson.

Despite a quick start by Mandeep and Gayle, RCB failed to reach the required total of 207 runs.
